Landscape valuation of the periodic rivers (wadi) in Oman using Wejchert's impression curve metho

Summary: Oman's geographical individuality are the numerous periodic rivers - the wadi (uedi). Their valleys have a diverse functional and spatial structures, resulting from their landforms and transport accessibility. The author's aim was to compare the landscape of two streams valleys in their lower parts (W1 - Muscat, W2 - Salalah), over a distance of 1-1,6 km. In the landscape valuation the Wejchert's impression curve was applied, allowing visual assessment of an area, considering impacts of sound and smell. The field inventory was conducted by a group of 6 students of the Faculty of Geographical and Geological Sciences of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, in June 2019. The investigated valleys showed similarities and differences in terms of their natural environment and land use. In both, the results of research were also affected by meteorological conditions, significantly affecting perception, and previous cultural experience of the authors.
